All creative work at Bricks follows a defined set of phases. These phases ensure clarity, consistency, accountability, and quality across all projects, regardless of size or complexity. A Creative is expected to understand, respect, and operate within these phases at all times.

6.1 Assignment Acknowledgement

The workflow begins when a Creative is assigned to a brand or project. At this stage, the Creative must:
  • Acknowledge the assignment clearly
  • Review the scope, deliverables, and deadlines
  • Identify missing or unclear information
  • Raise questions before proceeding
No work should begin without a clear understanding of what is expected.

6.2 Business Discovery

If clarification is required, the Creative may participate in or request a Business Discovery discussion with the Business or Account team. This phase focuses on:
  • Understanding the client’s business objectives
  • Identifying priorities and constraints
  • Understanding budget boundaries
  • Aligning on expectations and timelines
This phase ensures creative decisions are grounded in business reality.

6.3 Brand Research

Brand research is a mandatory phase and cannot be skipped. This phase includes:
  • Reviewing the brand’s digital presence and history
  • Analyzing previous content performance
  • Studying competitors and market positioning
  • Understanding the target audience
  • Identifying strengths, gaps, and opportunities
Strong research directly impacts the quality of creative output.

6.4 Client Introductory & Briefing

This phase focuses on direct alignment with the client. During this phase, the Creative:
  • Engages with the client to understand their vision
  • Clarifies creative boundaries and preferences
  • Aligns on style, tone, and direction
  • Validates expectations around content usage and timelines
This phase ensures both parties are aligned before planning begins.

6.5 Site Visit & Scouting

When applicable, the Creative conducts a site visit to gather inspiration and practical insights. This phase includes:
  • Scouting locations and spaces
  • Identifying potential shooting angles and setups
  • Understanding lighting and space limitations
  • Capturing reference images for planning
Site visits help bridge the gap between concept and execution.

6.6 Concept Development

This phase translates research and insights into creative ideas. It includes:
  • Defining the main creative idea and message
  • Structuring concepts into clear themes or topics
  • Ensuring ideas align with scope, budget, and timelines
  • Preparing references and early layouts
Concept development must focus on ideas that are executable, not aspirational.

6.7 Internal Creative Alignment

Before moving forward, concepts must be aligned internally. This phase includes:
  • Reviewing ideas with the Senior or Lead Creative
  • Ensuring all concepts meet department standards
  • Avoiding repetition of previously executed ideas
  • Refining direction based on feedback
Internal alignment protects creative quality and consistency.

6.8 Budgeting & Resources

Creative planning must align with approved budgets and available resources. This phase includes:
  • Understanding budget constraints
  • Planning sets, props, casting, and locations realistically
  • Coordinating with Production on feasibility
  • Avoiding unnecessary complexity
Creativity must operate within defined limits.

6.9 Pre-Production Planning

This phase prepares the team for execution. It includes:
  • Preparing a detailed Pre-Production Plan
  • Defining shots, setups, and deliverables
  • Listing props, wardrobe, casting, and equipment
  • Highlighting critical notes and priorities
The Pre-Production Plan acts as the single source of truth for execution.

6.10 Production Day

This phase focuses on execution. During production, the Creative:
  • Leads creative execution on set
  • Guides models and content creators
  • Monitors quality, styling, and composition
  • Manages time and priorities
  • Solves issues calmly and efficiently
The Creative is responsible for maintaining control and focus throughout the shoot.

6.11 Post-Production Assignment

After production, work moves into post-production. This phase includes:
  • Assigning tasks clearly through the approved system
  • Providing references and direction
  • Communicating priorities and deadlines
  • Ensuring files are organized following the titles on the pre-production plan and accessible
Clear tasking ensures smoother post-production.

6.12 Review, Revisions & Delivery

The final phase focuses on refinement and closure. This includes:
  • Reviewing drafts in depth
  • Providing feedback and tracking it
  • Ensuring revisions are implemented correctly
  • Following up until final approval
  • Confirming delivery of all deliverables
The workflow is not complete until final approval and delivery are confirmed.
